The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, today in Manhattan exhausted a long agenda of meetings with the main North American airlines, as well as tour operators based in the United States, with which he signed collaboration and intention agreements that They seek to strengthen relations between the Dominican Republic and said companies in order to promote tourism in the country.

Collado signed a dozen agreements with these companies, with which he will explore the closure of vacation package promotions, marketing campaigns, opening of new routes, among other actions that will continue to promote the entry of North American tourists to the Dominican Republic.

“The United States is our tourist ally par excellence, so we will continue to make all efforts in our power to further boost this market, which has been the main boost we have had in the recovery of Dominican tourism during the pandemic,” explained the Minister Collado.

The interest of the ministry is to be able to increase awareness of the Dominican Republic country brand among the North American market, as well as to give visibility to the different options of Dominican tourist destinations in the different regions of the country, he said.

Collado explained to the different airlines and agencies that the Dominican Republic is the only destination in the region where 100% of the employees in the sector are fully vaccinated with two doses, with the lowest incidence rate of infections in tourist areas, therefore that the country is a safe travel destination.

Among the companies that met with Minister Collado are, Jet Blue, American Airlines, Expedia, Travelocity, Signature, American Society of Travel Advisors, Flight Center, Destination Weddings, Frontier, among others.

Minister Collado is running out of a three-day schedule in New York City where he also met with Dominican authorities in the city and will host a large reception for New York State travel agents and tour operators.
