The Dominican Republic has officially kicked off its participation at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, one of the most important tourism fairs in the world. Minister of Tourism David Collado emphasized that the country’s main objective this year is to expand air connectivity with Europe, which currently accounts for 22% of all international visitors to the Dominican Republic.

During the inauguration of the Dominican pavilion at WTM, Collado highlighted that strengthening flight connections with Europe remains the key strategy to ensure that long-haul travelers continue choosing the Dominican Republic as their preferred destination in the Caribbean.

The Dominican delegation attending the fair — which runs until Thursday — includes over 25 co-sponsors, as well as major banking institutions and representatives from the national tourism sector.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Dominican Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Rosa Hernández de Grullón, highlighted the continued growth and diversification of Dominican tourism, reaffirming her commitment to promoting the country across the British market.

The World Travel Market (WTM), recognized as one of the world’s leading tourism events and the top fair in the United Kingdom, celebrates its 45th edition this year with the participation of over 4,000 exhibitors from 182 countries.

On the eve of the event’s opening, Minister David Collado led a promotional roadshow that brought together hundreds of British tour operators, airlines, and travel agencies. During the event, he showcased the Dominican Republic’s diverse tourism offerings and its stunning natural attractions, reaffirming the country’s growing reputation as the Caribbean’s most complete destination.
