Arajet officially inaugurated its new direct route between Punta Cana and Córdoba on Tuesday, December 2, marking its second destination in Argentina and reinforcing its expanding footprint across the Southern Cone. The new service will operate five times per week, significantly improving air connectivity and offering travelers faster, more efficient access between Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
This launch comes at a moment of remarkable growth in travel demand between both countries. During the first half of 2025 alone, arrivals from Argentina increased by 89.5% compared to the same period in 2024, positioning Argentina as the third-largest source market of tourists for the Dominican Republic. Projections indicate that total Argentine arrivals could reach 450,000 visitors by the end of 2025, underscoring the strategic importance of this market.
Arajet explained that the expansion into Córdoba responds directly to the rising demand for direct Caribbean connections beyond Buenos Aires. This new route complements its existing Buenos Aires service and further strengthens access to Arajet’s growing regional network, positioning the Dominican Republic as a key hub for South American travelers heading into the Caribbean.
