Samaná Mayor Nelson Núñez meets with Arajet executives to explore a potential charter flight connecting San Juan, Puerto Rico, with El Catey International Airport.

Samaná Mayor Nelson Núñez held a working meeting with executives from Dominican airline Arajet to explore the possibility of establishing a charter flight between San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Presidente Juan Bosch International Airport (El Catey) in Samaná.
The meeting, attended by Otto González, Arajet’s Chief of Staff, and Pablo Lister, Senior Vice President of External Relations, focused on evaluating operational requirements, potential passenger demand, and the opportunities this new air connection could create for tourism development and economic growth throughout Samaná province.

Núñez emphasized that a direct connection between San Juan and El Catey could bring Samaná closer to the Puerto Rican market, creating new opportunities for the hospitality, commercial, and service sectors while strengthening tourism, cultural, and business ties between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Technical and commercial assessments will continue to determine the feasibility of establishing the proposed route.
