New York – Arajet Expands U.S. Reach with Direct Flights to Santo Domingo
Dominican airline Arajet is strengthening its presence in the U.S. by launching a new direct route between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo.
Starting June 16, this new service will provide a crucial link between the Dominican Republic and the New York metropolitan area, home to the largest Dominican diaspora community.
“Arajet is dedicated to making air travel more affordable and accessible for both the Dominican community and U.S. travelers,” said Victor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet. “New York is a key market for us, and this route will strengthen our presence in the U.S. while complementing our existing services to Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our goal is to be the airline of choice for travelers heading to the Dominican Republic, whether for vacations, business, or reconnecting with loved ones.”
Arajet continues to expand its network, offering cost-effective, convenient, and high-quality service to passengers traveling between the U.S. and the Dominican Republic.
New York City Launch
Arajet officially introduced its Newark-Santo Domingo route at Gregorio Luperón High School in Washington Heights, a neighborhood with a significant Dominican community. The event was attended by U.S. Congressman Adriano Espaillat, along with Dominican consuls Jesús Vázquez (New York) and José Santana (New Jersey), highlighting the route’s importance for the Dominican diaspora.
Once in Santo Domingo, passengers will have access to 24 destinations, making it easy to explore the Dominican Republic or continue their journey across North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean.
With flights starting June 16, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) offers travelers a convenient gateway to the New York metropolitan area, thanks to its central location, excellent public transportation links, and proximity to Manhattan.
Arajet passengers will enjoy flexible fare options and can customize their experience with extra legroom, checked baggage, and priority boarding.
Since launching operations in 2022, Arajet has established two key bases: Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Operating a modern Boeing 737 MAX fleet, the airline continues to expand, offering affordable and efficient travel across the Americas and the Caribbean.
