There are people from many cultures that call Las Terrenas home, and you’re likely to hear a variety of languages spoken, including Spanish, French, Italian, English, and Creole. Palm trees and brightly colored fishing boats dot the coast, both along the malecon in town as well as along the long stretches of undeveloped beaches.

Local activities include kitesurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, and ziplining, and cars, motorbikes, scooters and mountain bikes are available to rent. Only a 25 minute drive to El Catey Samana International Airport, and about 2.5 hours to Santo Domingo, and 3.5 hours to Sosua and Puerto Plata.
