Las Galeras is a town on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, on the Samana Peninsula. It is known for its beautiful palm beaches and scuba diving. There are people from many cultures that call Las Galeras and the Samana Peninsula home, and you’re likely to hear a variety of languages spoken, including Spanish, French, Italian, English, and Creole. Palm trees and brightly coloured fishing boats dot the coast, both along the malecons in each town as well as along the long stretches of undeveloped beaches.
